About Us
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Foundation was formed in January 2012 and is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. The Foundation's history dates back to the 1960s with the establishment of the Ramsey County School Safety Patrol Foundation. That foundation along with other programs were combined to provide better allocation of resources.
Created to enhance and develop programs and services for youth, crime prevention, community outreach, and public safety, the Foundation provides important support and programming to augment and compliment the work of the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Foundation provides leadership, transparency, and accountability for all fundraising efforts, expenditures, and related activities. The above mentioned entities were brought together when establishing the Sheriff’s Foundation. The Board of Directors works closely with the Sheriff to identify and prioritize needs, while the Foundation remains independent of the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Foundation is a collaboration of diverse community members and volunteers working together to raise funds through hosting special events, collecting donations, and securing grants funding. The Foundation supports over 600 volunteers, a number of youth service programs, and many community-policing programs.
